Campbell Scientific CM240 – Leveling Base and Mount for Rain Gages
The CM240 is a mount to attach a rain gage to a pole or pipe and then to level the gage for accurate measurements. It mounts to the top of a pole or pipe, and then the rain gage is mounted on the CM240 and leveled with adjusting screws.
Detailed Description
The CM240 may be attached to a CM300-series mounting pole, or to a user-supplied 1.5 IPS (1.9″ OD, unthreaded) pipe. The pipe should be long enough to place the gage’s orifice at a one-meter height. The pole or pipe can be placed directly into a concrete foundation, attached to a concrete foundation using j-bolts, or self-supported with legs. A concrete pad is recommended.
The rain bucket mounting hole bolt pattern is adjustable to these three diameters:
- 23.24 cm (9.15 in.)
- 24.44 cm (9.62 in.)
- 25.6 cm (10.08 in.)
